Mario Lozano Alonso<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nac\u00ed en Le\u00f3n en 1982. Desde hace varios a\u00f1os me apasiona la historia et\u00edope, lo que me llev\u00f3 a iniciarme en el estudio de la lengua ge’ez (eti\u00f3pico cl\u00e1sico), contando con la ayuda del gran maestro \u00c1ngel R. Garrido Herrero<\/a>. Ense\u00f1o esa lengua en la Universidad Eclesi\u00e1stica San D\u00e1maso de Madrid<\/a>, en formato online y presencial. Tambi\u00e9n imparto el primer curso de Historia del \u00c1frica Subsahariana Precolonial online en castellano en el CEPOAT<\/a> de la Universidad de Murcia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Como investigador, complet\u00e9 en 2024 mi tesis doctoral sobre la yihad de Ahmad Gra\u00f1 contra el imperio et\u00edope (1529-1543), aunque tambi\u00e9n me interesan otros per\u00edodos de la historia et\u00edope. En septiembre de 2018 se public\u00f3 mi primer libro, dedicado a las iglesias de Lalibela, dentro de la colecci\u00f3n de National Geographic de Arqueolog\u00eda<\/a>, el cual se ha traducido al franc\u00e9s y al italiano. En 2019 redact\u00e9 la entrada del Diccionario Biogr\u00e1fico Electr\u00f3nico de la Real Academia de la Historia sobre Pedro P\u00e1ez<\/a> y, gracias a la Fundaci\u00f3n Universitaria Espa\u00f1ola, publiqu\u00e9 mi segundo libro, titulado Pedro P\u00e1ez y las Fuentes del Nilo Azul. Diplom\u00e1ticos, misioneros y aventureros en la Etiop\u00eda de los siglos XVI y XVII.<\/em> En 2022 sali\u00f3 a la calle el tercero, Historia de Etiop\u00eda<\/em><\/a> (Catarata). I was born in Le\u00f3n in 1982. For several years now, I have been passionate about Ethiopian history, which led me to begin studying the Ge’ez language (classical Ethiopian), with the help of the Professor \u00c1ngel R. Garrido Herrero<\/a>. I teach this language at the Ecclesiastical University of San D\u00e1maso in Madrid, both online and in person. I also offer the first online course in Spanish on Precolonial Sub-Saharan African History at CEPOAT, University of Murcia.<\/p>\n

As a researcher, I completed my doctoral thesis in 2024 on Ahmad Gra\u00f1\u2019s jihad against the Ethiopian Empire (1529\u20131543), although I am also interested in other periods of Ethiopian history. In September 2018, my first book was published, dedicated to the churches of Lalibela, as part of National Geographic’s Archaeology collection. It has been translated into French and Italian. In 2019, I wrote the entry on Pedro P\u00e1ez for the Diccionario Biogr\u00e1fico Electr\u00f3nico<\/em> of the Royal Academy of History, and thanks to the Fundaci\u00f3n Universitaria Espa\u00f1ola, I published my second book, Pedro P\u00e1ez and the Sources of the Blue Nile.
