Abiy Ahmed Ali \u00bfdel Nobel de la Paz a amenaza para la seguridad regional?\u00bb, el cual forma parte del volumen 24 de la Revista del Instituto Espa\u00f1ol de Estudios Estrat\u00e9gicos (IEEE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

El presente art\u00edculo pretende analizar los principales eventos que han ocurrido en Etiop\u00eda desde la llegada al poder del primer ministro Abiy Ahmed en abril de 2018 hasta septiembre de 2024. Durante los primeros meses de su mandato, su figura p\u00fablica protagoniz\u00f3 un fulgurante ascenso, cuya c\u00faspide fue la concesi\u00f3n del Premio Nobel de la Paz en 2019, para poco tiempo despu\u00e9s volverse tremendamente impopular en el pa\u00eds, especialmente entre los oromos y los tigrinos. Aqu\u00ed expondremos cu\u00e1les han sido los aciertos de su pol\u00edtica, condensada en su ideolog\u00eda Medemer, y cu\u00e1les sus fracasos, especialmente los relativos a la guerra de Tigray, la cuesti\u00f3n oromo, la insurgencia amhara de Fano y la reciente crisis provocada por el acceso et\u00edope a un puerto del mar Rojo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[ENG] The academic article \u00abRise and Fall of an African Icon. Abiy Ahmed Ali: From Nobel Peace Prize to Regional Security Threat?\u00bb has just been published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article aims to analyze the main events that have taken place in Ethiopia from the rise to power of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in April 2018 up to September 2024. During the first months of his mandate, his public figure experienced a meteoric rise, culminating in the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019, only to soon become deeply unpopular in the country, especially among the Oromo and Tigrayan communities. Here, we will present both the successes of his policies, embodied in his Medemer ideology, and his failures, particularly those related to the Tigray war, the Oromo question, the Amhara Fano insurgency, and the recent crisis triggered by Ethiopia\u2019s access to a Red Sea port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
